The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) issued the following statement opposing a provision included in the recently proposed Congressional budget deal that would undermine Medicare Part D:
“Last year, NOF circulated a letter signed by more than 300 health advocacy groups opposing harmful changes to Medicare Part D, yet Congress continues to find ways to undermine this successful program,” said Chief Executive Officer Elizabeth Thompson.
“The new provision would permanently erode the Part D benefit and negatively impact patient access to vital medications. These changes would particularly hurt vulnerable seniors living with chronic conditions.
On behalf of our patient community and the 42 million beneficiaries reliant on this essential program, we urge Congress to reject this harmful provision.”
